Yankees 5, Rangers 2 (Game 2 of double dip)

BAMBINO: The Yanks really needed this sweep of the double header and the 3 game set. They got strong starting pitching from Hughes, Pettitte, and Mussina. Starting pitching has been a hardship so far this season for the Yanks. It's good to see them come through. It's a shame that the young Hughes is on the DL. He looked outrageous the other night. He'll be back.

Mike Mussina came off the DL (15-Day, Hamstring) and pitched 5 solid innings to get the win. Mariano Rivera who has been written off by non believers as "washed up", came on to record 2 saves in the double header with this vintage stuff. Mo is not ready to hang 'em up just yet.

Derek Jeter has now extended his hitting streak to 20 games. Derek is the man. As a Yankee fan, I am so glad to have a guy like Jeter on my team. Next up for the Yanks is Seattle at Yankee Stadium.
